Along with fat from food, it is transported through the bloodstream into cells and is deposited in the vessel walls along with calcium when in excess.<\/p><h2><strong>Free radicals<\/strong><\/h2><p>are endogenous substances needed for defense reactions against pathogens. Due to their toxicity, however, the body must protect itself from excessive reactions.
